The ISC SELECT soccer program is for those players seeking a higher level of competition. Select soccer is competitive soccer; scores from each game will be recorded and division/league standings are published. All coaches are required to be licensed in accordance with KYSA's minimum coaching standards. Select teams typically train two times a week during the season, and most hold training sessions and/or participate in indoor leagues during the winter months between the two seasons. Select teams also usually participate in two or more tournaments each season.
ISC Select teams generally compete in the Greater Cincinnati Soccer League (GCSL, a league associated with Cardinal Premier League) which is governed by Ohio South Youth Soccer Association (OSYSA). We do have some teams that compete in the Buckeye Premier Youth Soccer League (BPYSL) which is also governed by OSYSA.
New teams are formed via tryouts and players are placed on teams with similarly skilled players. Input from coaches, as well as, parents, may be taken into consideration. ISC will try to identify coaches for each of our ISC SELECT teams in advance of tryouts. In certain circumstances a coach may not be identified until after tryouts. Offers to join teams will be made by ISC, based upon objective evaluation of players, along with minimal input from coaches.
Returning players who have already played on an ISC SELECT team must try out each Spring. If there are multiple teams playing within the birth year/gender, players may choose to tryout out for ONLY their prior team, or may elect to receive offers from ANY team. ISC will not unilaterally reshuffle existing teams but will allow for players to try out for other and/or receive offers from other teams if the players choose to do so.
To register for select you must choose "Select Tryouts" during the registration process. There are no registration fees for tryouts. If your player is invited to join a team you will receive an e-mail invite to accept or decline and if you accept you will complete a second registration and pay fees at that time.
